Marsch was sacked as head coach following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest which has left the Whites fourth-bottom and only above the Premier League drop zone on goal difference. Marsch’s departure from Leeds was confirmed by the club on Monday afternoon and the Whites will now face their arch rivals from Manchester at Old Trafford with a caretaker management trio in charge of the Whites. Marsch’s recently appointed assistant Chris Armas, under-21s head coach Michael Skubala and under-21s development coach Paco Gallardo are at the helm for tonight’s game and this is how we think the Whites will line up. Skubala took over pre-match press conference duties on Tuesday and revealed that Leeds had a few “bumps and bruises” and the usual longer-term injuries. Skubala said it would be a “collective approach” between himself, Armas and Gallardo within who did what. This is the Leeds XI we expect at Old Trafford.
7. CM - Weston McKennie
High profile January recruit McKennie was only named on the bench at Forest which looked an odd call given that Marsch had declared how impressive and fit he had looked in training. McKennie eventually came off the bench to replace Marc Roca with Leeds 1-0 down in the 57th minute but surely the significant milestone of a full league debut will await at Old Trafford. But will it be in a two or three man centre midfield? Photo: Michael Regan
8. CM - Marc Roca
Marsch went with Adams, Roca and Jack Harrison as a three-man centre midfield against Forest but Roca was the first to be hooked for McKennie before the disappointing Harrison went off with seven minutes left as Sam Greenwood was introduced. But Leeds arguably went backwards after Roca was withdrawn and a three-man centre midfield of Roca, Adams and McKennie might be a good idea at Old Trafford. If so, then McKennie for Harrison as the second of three changes. McKennie can be the most advanced of that trio, playing box to box to support the front line. Photo: George Wood
9. RW - Georginio Rutter
The club's new record signing was only named on the bench at Forest having made his debut when starting the previous weekend's win at Accrington in the FA Cup fourth round. Marsch instead went with Luis Sinisterra as one of the wide options at Forest but Sinisterra blew what chances he had in front of goal although it must be said that Rutter did not make much of an impact upon replacing Bamford and going upfront in the 67th minute. There's also the option of starting the exciting Crysencio Summerville or Harrison out wide but perhaps the best bet is to just let Rutter off the leash from the start but out wide and not upfront for the second milestone of another full league debut. 10. LW - Willy Gnonto
What a talent and fast becoming the first pick of the lot. Gnonto's skill and creativity will likely be key to how Leeds fare at Old Trafford although the Whites could do without already relying so heavily on the brilliance of the 19-year-old Italian international forward. On the left flank looks best. Photo: Gareth Copley
11. ST - Patrick Bamford
There's no Rodrigo and Leeds already missed his goals upon the first game of his expected two month absence with an ankle injury at Forest. It's essentially a choice of either Bamford or Rutter upfront in Rodrigo's absence but Bamford as the 9 with Rutter on one of the flanks might be the way to go. Photo: PAUL ELLIS
