Gabby Agbonlahor responds to 'rattled' Leeds United fans after labelling Marcelo Bielsa's Whites 'a myth'

FORMER Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor says Leeds United's fans should expect "wind ups" from former players as part of the territory for being back in the big time.

Agbonlahor took to social media following Marcelo Bielsa's side's 1-0 reverse at home to Wolves on Monday night to call Leeds "a myth" and state that: "maybe all the pundits will get out of Bielsa's a...e."

The Tweet attracted nearly 4,000 retweets and over 3,000 likes as well as over 2,000 replies.

For Leeds, a trip to Agbonlahor's former club Villa was next and the ex-striker looked on as Bielsa's Whites bounced back from their Wolves reverse in style with a 3-0 victory in which Patrick Bamford bagged a hat-trick.

Agbonlahor then took to social media to applaud United on their victory, saluting a "great performance"and saying well done to Bamford but speaking on talkSport, the former forward questioned why his initial Tweet had got fans so "rattled."

Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “How can a club the size of Leeds, this big club, be so affected by a tweet from Gabby Agbonlahor?

“I’m getting messages from Leeds fans saying I’m a has-been and this and that and I totally agree, so why are you so rattled by something that I’ve tweeted.

"I don’t see a club like Manchester City or Manchester United when they win a game the talk is about a pundit saying their manager is a myth.

“You’ve got to expect that. You’re in the big league.

"You are going to get ex-players who are going to try and wind up Leeds and try and put them off their game.

“It’s part of being in the big league and the big time.”
