Leeds United and West Ham face off at the London Stadium with Phillips back in the Whites squad after missing the previous four games through injury.

Should the 25-year-old get the nod in Marcelo Bielsa’s midfield, Phillips will come up against Rice, who has played an integral part in the Hammers’ charge towards Europe this term.

Former Leeds defender Warnock is intrigued by the prospect of the midfield pair battling against each other, in a game that is difficult to call.

Speaking to Sky Sports’ Football Show, Warnock said: “What’s interesting for me, I think Kalvin Phillips has travelled for Leeds, so you look at that battle in midfield with Declan Rice, which is possibly a battle for an England place in the summer.

"West Ham have had an incredible season and do need a victory tonight to make sure they can stay in the hunt for the top four places.

"You wouldn’t bet against them of how organised David Moyes has them but when you play against Leeds, you’ve got to bring high energy and be very well organised.

"Again, another interesting battle and a very difficult one to call.”
