Expected Leeds United injury return dates as seven close to comeback for Daniel Farke’s side
The Whites have struggled with injuries during the first month of the 2023/24 season, however Farke is set to be handed a reprieve following September’s international break as the likes of Mateo Joseph, Dan James and Ian Poveda are all expected to make an imminent return to first-team selection contention.
Not far behind are the likes of Sam Byram, Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford and Junior Firpo; the latter pair yet to make an appearance for United this season.
Here are the expected return dates for a throng of Leeds players who have sat out Championship action in recent weeks.

7. Patrick Bamford: 23 September
Bamford is another whose injury record may come into Farke's thinking when selecting his line-up this weekend and in midweek at the KCom Stadium. A hamstring injury has kept him from competing in any competitive fixtures this season but it was initially stated he could be expected to return following the international break. 8. Liam Cooper: October 7
The skipper's foot injury is set to keep the Scottish international sidelined for eight weeks which means a likely return date is the home fixture with Bristol City on October 7. (Photo by Alex Caparros/Getty Images) Photo: Alex Caparros

9. Stuart Dallas: Unknown return date
Dallas' return from a horror leg fracture is yet to be given an expected timeframe while he continues his rehabilitation at Thorp Arch. Despite retirement rumours circulating online, the Northern Irishman moved quickly to deny such reports, stating they were 'fake news'. Dallas is contracted at Elland Road until next summer.
