Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman has selected former Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville in his latest provisional national team squad.

Summerville’s call-up follows his move to join West Ham United earlier this month after the East London club triggered a reported £25 million release clause in his Elland Road contract.

Leeds are set to receive further performance-related add-ons, up to around £33 million, depending on whether certain conditions are met.

The 22-year-old winger was named Championship Player of the Season last term as Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion automatically by finishing third at the end of the regular campaign, then were defeated by Southampton in the play-off final. Summerville scored 19 goals whilst adding a further nine assists in the league to fire United within touching distance of a top flight return.

He was not selected in the Netherlands’ European Championships squad this summer but has been chosen, provisionally at least, by Koeman for their UEFA Nations League fixtures in September.

The former Everton boss said: “We concentrate on the UEFA Nations League, but we’re also looking ahead to the FIFA World Cup in two years. That is why we have chosen several new faces.

“We also had to make choices regarding a couple of experienced players with a great track record in Oranje. I have had personal conversations with Daley Blind, Georginio Wijnaldum and Marten De Roon and have explained to them why we have chosen a number of new, young players. Memphis Depay must first find a club before he comes into our picture again."

Ex-Manchester United forward Depay has been without a club this summer since leaving Atletico Madrid on a free transfer.

Summerville, meanwhile, could make his Hammers debut this weekend as they take on Aston Villa in their Premier League season opener.
