The 24-year-old continued his exceptional start to his Elland Road career, running the Palace defence ragged during the 2-0 victory.

And there was one moment in particular that Beckford highlighted on Sky Sports’ Football Show, as he did on Twitter last night.

He said: “Raphinha – what a player. He was full of energy last night, full of enthusiasm – every time he picked the ball up he was so direct in his decision-making, his movement.

"I started feeling bad for the full-backs and the defenders for Palace because he was just relentless.

"Every time he picked the ball up, he was causing issues constantly.

"This bit of trickery here on Gary Cahill – oh my word, disgusting! I don’t think that should be allowed to be honest!

"Gary Cahill made the right decision to bring it down before he got inside the box but that just summed up his performance, he was lethal."

In 17 league appearances since his summer move from Rennes, the Brazillian has registered four goals and four assists.

There were even reports over the weekend suggesting Liverpool were keeping tabs on him, but as his performance levels increase, so does his price tag.

Beckford added: “The kid has got everything, he has got the world at his feet. What an exciting player he is and for £17million as well, that is some deal."
