Danger man absent, mainstay ruled out - West Ham predicted lineup for Friday night clash vs Leeds

The Whites won that clash 1-0, but could be in for a difficult test at Elland Road tonight, with the Hammers flying high in the Premier League.

David Moyes’ men are currently eighth in the table, just four points off a Champions League spot, and have lost just four of their opening 11 matches this term.

The Hammers have, for the most part, kept a fairly consistent lineup this season, but could be without major threat Michail Antonio for their trip to Yorkshire.

Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Moyes said: "He's still recovering at the moment so at this moment in time, I'd say he'll be doubtful for the game.”

Without the powerful 30-year-old leading the line, the Irons are likely to opt for record signing Sebastien Haller up front.

The Frenchman has scored two goals in 10 Premier League outings this term, but has started just four of those matches.

Aside from Antonio’s likely absence, the only other injury concerns that Moyes has to contend with is that of full-backs Ryan Fredericks and Arthur Masuaku.

Fredericks is carrying a groin strain and may not be back in time for Friday’s clash, while Masuaku is set to be out for the foreseeable future after undergoing knee surgery.

If that is the case, Moyes is likely to turn to summer signing Vladimir Coufal at right wing-back, with Aaron Cresswell pushed out to the left side.

Issa Diop is the most likely candidate to take his place in the heart of defence alongside Angelo Ogbonna and Fabien Balbuena.

Lukasz Fabianski should be nailed on to start in net behind them.

Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek have both been in fine form this season, and should be the preferred partnership in the centre of midfield.

With Haller leading the line, Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals have generally been the duo entrusted with supplying support in wide areas, and with both settling into the top flight well this term, they should be Moyes’ go-to pairing once more.
