Here, we round-up the winners and losers from another action-packed few days in the second-tier.
Scroll and click through the pages to see which teams, managers and players shone and struggled over the weekend:
7. L: Nottingham Forest
Sabri Lamouchi’s men blew the chance to seal their play-off place before the final day of the season. That said, it is still very likely Forest will qualify and Lamouchi is adamant they deserve it. He said: “Forest deserve to play the play-offs, my dressing room deserve to play the play-offs and we need to do everything we can to play the play-offs.” Photo: David Rogers
8. W: Mel Morris (Derby County)
Derby’s owner put the recent controversy between the two clubs to one side and provided Leeds with a bottle of champagne for the journey home. We’re not sure he knew much about Victor Orta bringing binoculars to Pride Park, though…. Photo: Michael Regan
9. L: Brentford
The Bees’ eight-match winning run ended at the worst possible time after Lee Gregory’s winner for Stoke prevented Thomas Frank’s men from moving into the top two. They were perhaps unlucky too, with pundit Gary O’Neil left adamant Brentford should have been awarded TWO penalties by referee Geoff Eltringham. Photo: David Rogers
10. W: Leeds United
Promoted on Friday, champions on Saturday and then 3-1 winners at Derby on Sunday. We bet there are a few sore heads in Leeds this morning! A number of pundits welcomed the Whites back into the big time - including Alan Shearer: “The Premier League will be a better place for having Leeds in it. They are a big, big club with a huge fan base.” Photo: Laurence Griffiths
