How do you see Lewis Bate at the moment? He is performing in the 23s...

“What he does is sufficient. He is a very hardworking and serious person.

“He’s competing with players his age and players who have stability in the first team.

“I observe, correctly or wrongly, I pick.”

What preparation focus have you had ahead of Man City?

“The opponents players are very recognisable. Their characteristics also.

“The amount of variants they use to attack. You have to look at their collective offensive game.”

Would you take 15th place now with all the injuries?

“I never give an opinion over the future. I always look in future at the maximum, not the minimum.

“Evaluations prior to these things happening will be very uncertain.

“Percentages and statistics can mark out a tendency, it is too difficult to predict.”

Would you take survival now?

“The same response applied. The excuses [of injuries] are not sufficient.”
