Marcelo Bielsa discusses January transfer window
Marcelo Bielsa has explained why Leeds United signing new faces in January is not necessarily a straight forward decision.
He believes Leeds have already invested heavily and that must be taken into account, given the price of players who could augment his squad.
"In reference to the amount of players that we have in the squad, it is not only about the amount of players but the quality of the players that are for the squad," he said.
"So the players will have the level for any position, it would cost us a minimum between 20 and 30 million pounds.
"So in an institution like Leeds that had invested a lot on players in the second year and also the third year, to imagine that we could increase the power of our professional group, it shouldn't be evaluated without looking at the economic possibilities."
Adam Forshaw tipped to provide midfield solution
Adam Forshaw can be the dependable midfielder Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa require, believes Micah Richards.
"He did really well in the Leicester game. He was controlling it," Richards said of the central midfielder.
"When you've been through that pain for so long you just want to get out there on the pitch. In the game against Leicester he made a real difference. When you've been out that long it's about making sure your first pass is correct.
"His work rate is brilliant. Bielsa in that pre-season before he got injured said he was one of his favourite players. He just does the basics very well. You can trust him. He is dependable and that is what you want from a midfielder."
Joffy tipped for Leeds success
Jamie Redknapp likened Leeds United youngster Joe Gelhardt to a 'human wrecking ball' on his first Premier League start.
"He is probably early in his development because Raphinha would normally play in that area but he’s like a human wrecking ball," said Redknapp of the former Wigan Athletic academy graduate's abilities.
"You see him on the pitch, he made a real difference. I like him, he’s really exciting. He’s fast, he’s aggressive, he gets on the ball, takes people on. Once he gets into the box he loves it and where he can cause most of his damage."
