Hide AdIt’s hard to read Villa so far this season. On the one hand, they’ve played two struggling teams in Fulham and Sheffield United. But on the other, they’ve beaten Liverpool by a sizable margin as well as easing past Leicester City.
Under Dean Smith, Villa have tended to play some variation on a 4-3-3 formation, although with the arrival of Ross Barkley, this seems to have morphed into something closer to a 4-2-3-1 which becomes a 4-4-2 out of possession.
The focal point of their attack is England international, Jack Grealish, and much of Leeds’ task on Friday will be to keep him quiet.
Goalkeeper Illan Meslier says his Whites are relishing the challenge to end Aston Villa's perfect start, declaring: "we are Leeds, we arrive to win."

"Okay, Aston Villa have had four games and four wins.
"But now we are Leeds, we arrive to win and I hope we win against Aston Villa.”
Reflecting on Monday night's loss against Wolves, Meslier reasoned: “The Wolves game was a little frustrating because it was a good game and we dominated the opponent.
“But this can happen in the Premier League, we had the possession, but lost this game and now just the one objective is focusing on Friday for a win at Aston Villa."

Hide AdVilla have had more than 24 hours' extra to prepare for Friday night's clash with their most recent encounter coming via Sunday's 1-0 win at Leicester City and Villa midfielder John McGinn hopes the difference shows.
Speaking to www.avfc.co.uk, McGinn said: “I think I speak for most Premier League teams when I say that Leeds is one of the most difficult fixtures on the calendar.
“You need a couple of days off after you’ve played them, but hopefully they’ll be tired from their game against Wolves.
“Villa Park is somewhere we want to make a fortress, and we’ve done that so far this season. Hopefully we can carry that on this Friday.”

Hide AdReflecting on Villa's perfect start, which has made last season's 17th-placed finish seem a world away, McGinn warned: "The humility needs to stay, and we can’t get ahead of ourselves.
"We’ve got 12 points now and 28 more points will get us safe, and then we can move on from there.
“In the first season we probably tried to look a bit too far ahead too soon.
"It’s an exciting time to be a part of Aston Villa and hopefully that can continue.”
