Aston Villa 0 Leeds United 3: Patrick Bamford slams home hat-trick as Whites run riot to move third

Villa approached Friday night's contest sat second in the table following four wins out of four including a 7-2 hammering of champions Liverpool.

Yet Leeds created a host of opportunities in a dominant first-half and finally made their authority count as Bamford bagged a 19-minute treble in the second half.

The striker first of all tapped home from close range after Villa keeper Emi Martinez could only parry Rodrigo's shot across goal in the 55th minute but Bamford's second and third goals were spectacular.

Twelve minutes later, the forward first of all latched on to a pass from Mateusz Klich to unleash a fierce shot into the top right corner and the Whites no 9 then completed his hat-trick with a majestic curling finish to a fine move in the 74th minute.
