Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette revealed Mikel Arteta's half-time anger during Leeds United's FA Cup clash with the Gunners on Monday night.

The Spaniard saw his side dominated in the opening exchanges at the Emirates in the third round tie with Marcelo Bielsa's side enjoying a number of chances to take the lead.

Patrick Bamford worked goalkeeper Emi Martinez before hitting the bar while Gjanni Alioski also went close on two occasions with home Arsenal boss Arteta visibly frustrated on the sidelines.

The hosts upped their play after the interval before Reiss Nelson opened the scoring in the 55th minute which proved enough to see his side through into the fourth round with a 1-0 victory and set up a tie with Bournemouth.

Lacazette, though, revealed Arteta's anger at the full-time whistle.

"The manager shouted a lot," he told BBC Sport afterwards.

"He was not happy because we knew they'd play like this and we didn't respect what he had said."

Gunners goalscorer Nelson added: "The emotions are high.

"They played well in the first half. Leeds are a great team and they pressed us, we didn't expect it. We got the goal in the end and that is the most important thing.

"This will give us confidence to go forward. We want to go to the [Crystal] Palace game and do well."
