Former Arsenal great Wright has already revealed this season that he is a huge fan of the Whites and delighted that the club have finally returned to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.

However, the 57-year-old ex-striker says he is now concerned by United's recent performances and form following a run of five defeats from their last eight games for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Leeds sit 12th and still 11 points off the dropzone but third-bottom Fulham and fourth-bottom Burnley have both played a game less.

Both the Cottagers and fifth-bottom Brighton have recently turned a corner and Wright has highlighted the recent slumps of Leeds and two other bottom half sides in assessing the battle to stay up.

"Leeds, Wolves and I would say Newcastle – if I’m their fans at the moment I think I’m feeling a little bit nervy,” said Wright, speaking on this week's Wrighty's House podcast."You look at Brighton, Burnley and Fulham who are 16th, 17th and 18th respectively and where you are in the league can be false in respect of how you are feeling right now.

“Fulham for me will probably be feeling, like with the way they are playing and how well they are doing and the way that Scott Parker has now got them organised, they look like a problem and a danger.

"They are not as easy to beat.

"They have got Anguissa who looks very very good, Ademola Lookman who can create and cause problem and OI like that Antonee Robinson though I know he got sent off the other day.,

"Ola Aina is somebody again, a former Chelsea Academy player who is a really really good player.

"You have got players who are playing pretty well in a system that they are playing and they will feel like they can get out of that.

"They do need to nick some more goals but I worry for Wolves, Newcastle and I think Leeds need to start to get back to the Leeds that started off the season where they were a little bit more like yeah okay we will concede a couple but we have got chest.

"They seem like they have lost the chest but they are still conceding."
