Angus Kinnear has taken a swipe at Sky Sports and says the broadcaster has provided extra motivation in Leeds United's promotion push.

The Whites have been shown by the EFL's official television partner four times since the season's restart with Marcelo Bielsa's side often having to play last in each round of fixtures amid the race for top flight football.

The broadcaster also angered a number of fans during United's 5-0 win over Stoke City last week by repeatedly airing a chant that has become synonymous with visiting supporters at Elland Road.

Leeds, though, now sit just one point away from a return to the Premier League following a 1-0 victory over Barnsley on Thursday night in LS11.

Kinnear wrote in his programme notes ahead of kick-off: “Sky Sports seeming to pipe ‘Leeds are falling apart again’ over the broadcast feed (which I have no doubt will be reciprocated when crowds return) and a fixture list which has contrived to repeatedly force us to play after our immediate rivals (a challenge the squad has chosen to embrace) will provide even more motivation to reach our goal.

"It will make getting there taste even sweeter."

United could clinch promotion if either West Bromwich Albion or Brentford drop points this weekend.

The Baggies travel to Huddersfield Town on Friday evening while the Bees take on Stoke City on Saturday lunchtime.
