Andrea Radrizzani has taken 'responsibility' for a club tweet aimed at Amazon Prime pundit Karen Carney but has labelled her comments 'disrespectful'.

“They [Leeds] outrun everyone and credit to them,” Carney explained on Amazon Prime. “My only concern would be, will they blow up at the end of the season?

"And I actually think they only got promoted because of COVID, in terms of it gave them a bit of respite.

"I don’t know whether they would have got up if they didn’t have that break,” she concluded.

The comments prompted a tweet from Leeds United's official club account, which pointed out at the Whites had won the Championship by 10 points, whilst tagging Amazon Prime Sport.

At the time of writing, the post – which included a video of Carney’s comments – has received over 3.3k responses and 8.2k retweets.

Many, though, have questioned if an official club channel should call an individual out in such a manner.

“I take the responsibility of the Club tweet,” Leeds' majority owner Radrizzani said on Twitter. “I consider that comment completely unnecessary and disrespectful to our Club and particularly to the fantastic hard work of our players and coaches whom were understanding on the pitch for the last two championship seasons by all stats.”
