Agent touts Marcelo Bielsa for Serie A job, Aguero still open to joining Leeds

Leeds United picked up a superb late victory in their clash with Premier League leaders Manchester City at the weekend, elevating themselves into the top half of the table.

The result now means that the Whites have picked up 45 points in 31 top flight matches this season, and are level on points with ninth-placed Arsenal.

Speaking in the aftermath of the win over City, however, Marcelo Bielsa was eager to put the result into perspective.

He said: "It's part of Leeds' campaign in the Premier League.

"The position that Leeds obtain in the Premier League this year will be above any one performance.

"Of course for the players to have been able to overcome the difficulties of the game, it adds value to each of the participants in the game.

"It's not the same to play well and to win in a game that is successful than when you play in a game that is less successful.

"But I think the effect is over the players individually and as a team and then after it's the evaluation in the table where each team finishes."

Leeds’ next match is against LIverpool at Elland Road on Monday night.

The Whites put in a valiant display when the two sides last met on the opening day of the season, catching the eye in a 4-3 thriller.

Incredibly, if Leeds were to pick up a victory over the Reds, they would move into within four points of last season’s champions.
