Leeds United have proven to be shrewd operators in the transfer window and their most recent signing is further evidence. Jayden Bogle’s arrival from Sheffield United was confirmed on Saturday and despite the Blades wanting around £7million for their man, the final fee is believed to have been £5m.
That could well be seen as a bargain over the course of next season and Leeds were well-placed to try and bring that fee down, with Bogle into the final 12 months of his deal at Bramall Lane and unlikely to sign an extension. It’s a position selling clubs dread, knowing they must accept a cut-price sale or risk losing their player for free one year down the line.
But Bogle is not the only player in such a situation and Leeds might be minded to take advantage of similar uncertainty elsewhere in order to land another bargain. Below, the YEP has taken a look at 18 possible options across the Premier League and Championship, all of whom are into the final year of their respective deals.

7. Jamal Lewis
Watford opted against triggering a permanent option for the 26-year-old, who worked under Farke at Norwich City. Has joined up with Newcastle for pre-season but expected to leave and Magpies could look to cut a deal with any prospective suitors. | Getty Images

8. Ryan Fraser
Reports earlier this summer suggested Southampton were close to making the winger's loan permanent but he has since returned to Newcastle and is training with their under-21s. Proved a useful addition for Russell Martin's side last season, registering six goals and two assists. | Getty Images

10. Kasey McAteer
Reportedly of interest to Championship clubs, having registered six goals in 23 league games for Leicester last season. Still only 22-years-old and has also been on the radar of Premier League teams in recent months. | Getty Images

11. Facundo Pellistri
Manchester United reportedly open to a sale of the 22-year-old, who continues to impress former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa with Uruguay. Thought to be in talks with Panathinaikos but nothing done yet. | Getty Images

12. Issa Kabore
Manchester City are thought to be open to a permanent exit for the 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Luton Town. Right-back thought to be on the radar of Roma and Everton currently. | Getty Images
