Key Battle - Bailey Peacock-Farrell v Sebastian Polter

United’s defenders owe Peacock-Farrell a flawless performance. The club’s coaching staff think the 19-year-old keeper is ready for his debut but it’s been sprung upon him suddenly and tonight is a big test for him. Polter, a German forward with six goals to his name, has been leading the line for QPR and will doubtless be told by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to shoot on sight at Elland Road.

Key Man - Tjaronn Chery

The Dutchman, who cost QPR £2.25m last summer, is a silky footballer and a genuine threat in the number 10 role. He’s come up with nine goals for Rangers, including five in his last eight games, and he’s got the job of pulling the strings in behind Polter. Liam Bridcutt will need to keep a close eye on him.

Phil Hay’s view: “QPR have tried to look like play-off candidates this season but in reality they’ve been as far off the pace as Leeds. Their results reveal the sort of inconsistency that mid-table sides suffer from and United, despite their problems, should fancy their chances. Evans’ side must dominate the midfield, however. Their failure to do so was decisive in a 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road in November.”
