Leeds United v Nottingham Forest: Blackstock revelling in team spirit with Reds

Despite losing to Watford in the fourth round of the FA Cup last weekend, the Reds are currently enjoying a 13-game unbeaten run in the Championship, and hope to continue their winning streak as the end of the season rapidly approaches.

Having a string of victories under their belts has led the Forest players to believe they possess the solidarity needed to propel themselves into the play-off positions, starting with a big win on their travels today.

And none more so than Dexter Blackstock, the Forest striker who spent just under two months on loan at Leeds in 2013, with the 29-year-old insisting his team will not go down without a fight as they run out onto the Elland Road pitch at 3pm.

“We have a togetherness and a ‘we will not be beaten’ mentality,” said Blackstock, who scored one goal in four appearances during his time in Yorkshire.

“We are winning games now that we would have drawn previously. And we are drawing games now that we would have lost before.

“It shows that we have got that spirit to not be beaten and that is important. We are determined to keep that going.”
