The Spaniard's team completed their Professional Development League North campaign bringing their 30-game season to a close with a comfortable victory in the West Country.

The season has been one of two halves for Leeds as they picked up their thirteenth win of the campaign which has seen twelve defeats in total leaving the Whites in the relative safety of mid-table.

United though have lost just once in their last ten league meetings with Corberan overseeing a major turnover in players at Thorp Arch as the new regime at Elland Road set about rebuilding the foundations of the academy.

Following the victory the under-23's boss hailed the work of those behind the scenes believing his sides success in recent months is testament to the effort being put in.

"We know that at the start of the season we create too many new players," Corberan told LUTV.

"We take the risk to start the season without create the real squad, little by little we work to introduce some players and then of course I think the decision of the scouting area with Victor Orta and Andrea [Radrizzani] and the people who work in the club help us a lot to put some very good players in under-18 and under-23's.

"This is what we need, we need to work with potential players and now I feel proud because I am watching players ready to help the first team. This system only works because now we can see Tom Pearce and Paudie O'Connor in the last game help a lot to win with the first team.

"This for me is unbelievable because now we are getting our objectives, we are making players ready to be competitive in the first team and the 23's are winning games which is our objective too. In the same time we are making our supporters feel proud of the team and that's what we want.

Corberan also reflected on the game at Ashton Gate admitting he had been impressed by his sides showing: "Honestly, we are really happy because it's our last game of the league."

"We wanted to win to show the great performance that the team has seen in the second half of the season. For us we wanted to finish the game with a win, we are very proud of the numbers we get in the second half of the league.

"We controlled the game and created chances, the score made it look like an easy game but they played with physicality. We are happy about the win and the performance. In the second half of the league we were talking very clear with the players that we needed to put our levels up to the best.

"In the last 10 games to only lose once is great and this is our character, we have to have a winning mentality because we are Leeds United. We always must have this mentality and these are the numbers we deserve but this is the way we have to be.

"We have to be on a mission, demanding, with our best and ambitious because this is the spirit of this club."
