Leeds United: Stokes becomes latest youngster to sign new deal

The Irish player has agreed a one-year deal at Elland Road, 24 hours before his old contract was due to expire.
Stokes, 20, was one of a number of academy products offered new terms by Leeds when the club’s retained list was issued in early May.

A number of Under-21s have been working with United’s first team squad following the start of pre-season training at Thorp Arch this week and Stokes said: “It’s been good to come straight back into training with the first team.
“Hopefully I’ll stay there for the whole season and make an impression.”
Stokes was joint top-scorer for Leeds’ development squad last term with eight goals.
“I enjoyed last season, it was probably the best season I’ve had at the club and I’ve been rewarded now with a new deal,” he said.
