A deal is understood to be close to being brokered, with Bridcutt, 27, – who made 24 league appearances for the club while on loan last season – keen on moving to Leeds on a full-time basis and eager to kick on his career after a frustrating time in the north-east.
Bridcutt has not appeared for the Premier League club since the end of the 2014-15 campaign and he was left out of a pre-season tour to France by new manager David Moyes – a sure sign that his days at the club are numbered.
