Following the 2-1 victory United boss Heckingbottom said he was both delighted and impressed by the attitude shown by Alioski in his desire to pull on the White shirt.

"He returned home at 2am yesterday [Thursday] morning," revealed Heckingbottom.

"I spoke to him between flights. He'd got a flight to Istanbul then another one to Frankfurt, I spoke to him while he was in Frankfurt waiting to fly to Manchester from there.

"He was determined he wanted to be fit and available. That's good. That's the attitude I want."
