GOOD DAY FOR

Souleymane Doukara: A month or so ago he looked like a player whose face would never fit at Leeds again, or not in their starting line-up. From the starting point of a rare opportunity at Molineux, he has found a bit of form and rediscovered his scoring touch. That’s not to say that Leeds look convincing in this set-up but Doukara is doing his bit.

BAD DAY FOR

Aden Flint: His miss towards the end of the game was horrible and reminiscent of the chance which Chuba Akpom missed in the dying moments of Leeds’ win over Hull City last month. From point-blank range he had to score and there was no denying that United were lucky to get away with that. But on a day of few chances, finishing was crucial.

Flint’s chance: The game was into the last 10 minutes when Freeman’s cross dropped to him and an equaliser at that stage would have left Leeds with little time to dig out a second goal. As it was, City seemed to realise that his wayward header would be costly and didn’t really get close to Marco Silvestri again.

WHAT THEY SAID

Steve Evans: “It’s a sign of what the top teams do. You have to be able to play with fluency, win games and score goals, part one. Part two, you have to be dogged and get wins when you’re not at your best. We weren’t at our best.”

John Pemberton: “You’ve seen the game, it’s a difficult one to swallow. They’ve had one chance and scored it but that’s what happens when you are where we are. We’ve had enough chances to win and the one Aden Flint missed, he’d have buried last year. I was waiting for the net to move. I couldn’t believe it when it went wide.”
