Ipswich Town 1 Leeds United 1: We did enough to win the game says Town boss McCarthy
Ipswich took the lead in the ninth minute when a surging run from Emyr Huws and a teasing cross from Grant Ward ended with Freddie Sears volleying home.
Stuart Dallas then got the better of Jordan Spence at the far post to fire the ball under Bartosz Bialkowski to bring United back level before half-time.

“It was a terrific goal from Freddie. We could have gone with Kieffer [Moore] or Pits [Brett Pitman]. I spoke to TC [Terry Connor] about it and we went for Freddie’s pace and ability to get around the back and he showed that today. He was a real pest for them.
“Didz showed his quality again. When he’s fit and firing like he is, he makes a big difference to us and Emyr [Huws] has been a revelation for us as well. We shouldn’t have conceded the goal we did but again we have shown we can go toe to toe with the best teams. It’s been encouraging over the last three or four weeks. It shows you that if you play well and get good results you will get great support and that is what we’ve had again today.
“If we continue to play as we have done recently, the fans will come back.
“It’s certainly a happier place than it was six weeks ago and that’s down to performances on the pitch.”
