The curtains come down on a season like no other this weekend.

Liverpool earned their first league title in three decades, and Sheffield United surprised everyone with a push for European football.

Meanwhile, Watford surprised no one with their disposal of three managers and Jose Mourinho found his new home in North London.

And then, of course, the pandemic put the season on pause.

For FPL managers, a number of new heroes have emerged, from attacking midfielder-cum-defender John Lundstram to goal machines Danny Ings and Teemu Pukki.

Old favourites Mo Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kevin de Bruyne all continued to serve their managers well on a near-weekly basis.

David Silva, Man City

With Man City taking on lowly Norwich in the final Gameweek it is essential that you line your squad with three players.

Given Pep Guardiola’s tendency to constantly change his first XI makeup this is easier said than done, but we believe that David Silva is a safe choice in Gameweek 38+.

With the remainder of the Champions League set to be played out on foreign soil, the Spaniard, arguably the greatest City player of all time, will play his final game in the colours of Man City at the Etihad on Sunday.

The 34-year-old costs just £7.5m and will likely be afforded the full 90 minutes against a Norwich side who have conceded more goals than any other Premier League side this season.

Despite limited playing time the maestro has been involved with 18 goals this season and will likely be at the centre of the action on Sunday.

Kevin de Bruyne, Man City

Though he may not feature for the whole fixture, Kevin de Bruyne is chasing the record for most assists in a single Premier League season.

The Belgian needs just one goal to equal Thierry Henry’s record tally of 20 set in the 2002/2003 season.

Though Silva is guaranteed game time, Guardiola will likely allow City’s standout player this season have a go at cracking Henry’s record. FPL managers should react by recruiting the assist machine.

Ederson, Man City

As already mentioned Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven is in constant rotation, but one man has featured in all but three of the club’s Premier League fixtures.

Ederson is near guaranteed to start on Sunday and while managers may be reluctant to waste a transfer on a goalkeeper, those using a Free Hit and Wildcard should prioritise signing the stopper.

Serge Aurier, Tottenham

Serge Aurier often erratic play doesn’t endear him with a section of the Tottenham Hotspur support.

But the maverick full-back’s attacking contributions has made him a hit with some FPL managers.

Spurs take on a Crystal Palace side who have lost seven in the bounce on Sunday and have been toothless in front of goal. Ivorian Aurier could profit with clean sheet points and add to his assist tally of seven in the process.

Anthony Martial, Man United

The race for Champions League football will go down to the wire with Man United taking on Leicester for a place in Europe’s premier tournament.

With so much at stake a cagey affair could unfold, but with Leicester City shipping three goals at Spurs and Man United’s strike force regularly providing managers with attacking returns since the restart it’s worth rolling the dice on forward Anthony Martial.

Though listed as a midfielder the Frenchman plays a striker's role in Solskjaer’s side. He’s been hugely productive in this role since the restart setting up five goals and scoring six himself in the previous six games.
