DONE DEAL: Leeds United snap up Championship-winning left back Douglas on three-year deal

The 28-year-old defender helped Wolves to the Championship title last season with the defender making 42 appearances in all competitions and scoring five times, including when netting a brilliant free-kick for Wolves as they beat United 4-1 at Molinuex in November.

The left back also made his debut for the Scotland national side by featuring in a 1-0 victory in a friendly at Hungary in March.

Douglas becomes United's third signing of the summer for the first team squad following the acquisitions of goalkeeper Jamal Blackman and midfielder Lewis Baker from Chelsea on season-long loans.

The fee is officially undisclosed, but reports on Wednesday suggested that Douglas would cost around £3m when potential add-ons are taken into account.

The defender will wear the no 3 shirt with United now looking to add further recruits before the start of the new Championship season next weekend.

Douglas made his breakthrough with Scottish outfit Queens Park, before joining Dundee United.

He then moved to Lech Poznan where he spent two and a half years, winning the Ekstraklasa and the Polish Super Cup.

A stint with Konyaspor followed where he played in the UEFA Europa League, before heading to Molineux to join Wolves last summer.

In his first season in English football, Douglas made 42 appearances in all competitions, as Nuno Espírito Santo’s side won the Sky Bet Championship.

He was one of the stars of the division as Wolves gained promotion to the Premier League, with 14 assists and no other player in the league provided more.

Douglas also netted five goals during the campaign, including his spectacular free-kick against the Whites in Wolves’ 4-1 victory at Molineux last November.
