GOOD DAY FOR

Mirco Antenucci: If truth be told, his finishes against Bolton last weekend were long overdue – the striker’s first since November. But since then he has come into his own and his effort against Blackburn was every bit as good. Leeds have a big decision to make: would they be best off holding onto a finisher like him next season?

Paul Lambert: Blackburn have been hammered by fixture congestion recently and there was a sense of them grinding to a halt. But that was partly down to the fact United enveloped their midfield.

Marco Silvestri’s first-half save from Danny Graham: It was Blackburn’s best chance and Graham should have taken it. Silvestri pulled off a sharp low stop and Leeds didn’t look back from there. As soon as Bamba scored at the other end of the pitch, the direction went out of Blackburn’s performance and United turned the screw.

Paul Lambert: “I don’t think we deserved to lose. We started really well but against the run of play they scored from a corner and then from our own corner they break and get a second.”

Steve Evans: “From the minute we got the goal, it was a wonderful performance. Our one and two-touch passing around the pitch was fantastic.”
