Educating Yorkshire school signs up to our Tour de France Wear it Yellow Day fundraiser

Thornhill Community Academy, in Dewsbury, has pledged to engage in a day of Tour activity by encouraging staff and students to wear yellow clothing, organising a healthy yellow-themed school lunch menu and static bike challenge ahead of the July 5 and 6 Grand Depart from Yorkshire.
Well known for its role in the BAFTA-winning Educating Yorkshire TV series, the school has become the latest organisation to get involved with our landmark Wear it Yellow Day fundraiser on July 3.

Hide AdJonny Mitchell, Thornhill’s headteacher, said: “We want to encourage as many people as possible to get involved and celebrate the Tour de France in Yorkshire and raise valuable funds for a really important local service, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.”
We want businesses, schools and residents to sign up to our Wear it Yellow Day, which will be the culmination of our ongoing #yellowyorkshire campaign urging communities across the county to embrace the colourful theme of the Tour de France. All we ask is that individuals who wear yellow on the day donate £1 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Email [email protected] to pledge your involvement to Wear it Yellow Day and we will add you to our growing roll of honour.
