These intriguing photos charting a decade in the life of an inner city suburb at the dawn of a new century capture an age of innocence. They turn back the clock to the 1900s and bring into focus life around Sheepscar. The gallery features young faces looking at the camera on street corners in the heart of the community as well as memories of properties which were demolished as part of slum clearance. The images are published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks.
