These somewhat eerie photos provide a fascinating insight into life around Leeds city centre in the early 1900s. They turn back the clock to 1907 and showcase a range of landmarks and familiar streets at the heart of Leeds. The collection of photos also capture the faces of those who used the city centre for work, rest and play. The images are published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks.
