Eerie photos take you back to Leeds city centre in 1904

These somewhat eerie and atmospheric photos take you around Leeds city centre in the early 1900s.

They turn back the clock to 1904 and bring into focus landmarks such as Swinegate, Bond Street, Duncan Street and Briggate. They also showcase an age of innocence with the main image of 12 photos featured in the gallery showing young children looking at the camera. The images are published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks.
