Thousands of pupils were educated down the decades at the school on Stoney Rock Lane in Burmantofts. It opened in 1965, had more than 600 pupils and was hailed as an example of multi-cultural education at the time. It’s gymnastics squad had even appeared on TV and its pupils were praised for their good behaviour. It saw off the threat of closure in 1987 before eventually closing in August 2012. We hope these photos plucked from the YEP archive spark some memories of growing up. READ MORE: 22 photos you'll only understand if you were a Agnes Stewart High School pupil LOVE LEEDS?
