The gallery features familiar city centre shopping streets and landmarks as well as memories from around the suburbs with East Keswick, Halton, Armley, Headingley, Scarcroft, Chapel Allerton and Horsforth all in focus. It also turns the spotlight on lesser known gems - did you know St James’s Hospital boasted a library back in the day for patients? The images are published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks.
