You cannot wonder which direction life has taken this toddler pictured with a cuddly toy and a toy bus on the doorstep of his home back in the late 1980s. Your Yorkshire Evening Post captured this wonderful photo of the little lad sat on the steps of his home on Lascelles Road in Harehills. The images is one of 17 capturing a slice of life around Harehills during the decade. Shops and local landmarks are featured as well as bird’s eye views and memories of news stories making the headlines. It was a decade which featured a visit by England football captain Bryan Robson who was at Harehills Middle School. The photos are a mix from the Yorkshire Evening Post archive and others published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. They also run heritage blog The Secret Library Leeds, which provides a behind the scenes look at the Central Library and highlights from its special collections, including rare books hidden away in the stacks.
