Three men appear in court charged with murder of Leeds man gunned down outside his mother's home

Three men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a dad who was gunned down outside his mother's home in Leeds.

Steven Mark Grey, Jonathan Gledhill, and Denzil Browne, appeared before Leeds Magistrates’ Court today (Dec 14) charged with the murder of Christopher Lewis.

Mr Lewis, 24, died after he was shot outside his mother’s home in Reginald Street, Chapeltown, on August 1 this year.

No pleas were entered by the three defendants, who spoke only to confirm their names during the brief hearing.

The case was committed to Leeds Crown Court where all three men will appear on Monday. (Dec 17)

No bail applications were made.

Browne, 49, of Parkfield Court, Morley, appeared in the dock wearing jeans, a coat, a grey top and glasses.

Gledhill, 37 of Dib Lane, Roundhay, wore a blue top and jeans

Stephen Grey, 38, wore a red top and grey tracksuit bottoms. He is currently being held in custody.

Mr Lewis died in hospital from his injuries a day after the shooting.

The incident is believed to have been a targeted attack.

The men were arrested on Wednesday by detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

Five other people who were arrested as part of the investigation this week have been released on police bail while enquiries continue
