YEP says: Let Leeds have its day in the sun
Leeds was like a different city yesterday, basking in some super summer temperatures.
No square of pavement was too small to put out a cafe table and chairs so we city types, so long swaddled in our winter garments and braced against wind, rain, sleet and snow, could finally feel the sun on our skin.
But before you could say “pass the factor 30” there were warnings about UK pollution, pollen counts and harmful rays. Let’s face it Leeds has a battle on its hands as far as pollution is concerned and we should all know the skin cancer risk factors by now.
But surely, after what seems like such a long winter, we could enjoy our day in the sun!
