YEP Says: Leeds is ready, willing and able

We knew the people of Leeds would do us proud when the triathlon came to the city.

The Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon was a spectacular success. That is down to the elite competitors, the amateur participants and the supporters who turned out in great numbers.

The city enjoyed a global audience. It showed that Leeds can raise its game, whatever the event. Alistair Brownlee, speaking before the event, said he hoped it would be ‘extremely special’.

It was! Roll on the next big sports event: Leeds is ready.
