Billy Bremner, memorably once described as 10st of barbed wire and a player whose achievements will never be forgotten at Elland Road.

It will be 20 years on Thursday, December 7, since King Billy’s death and, to mark the anniversary, the Yorkshire Evening Post will be running a special commemoration of his life and times.

Bremner made more than 750 appearances for United between 1960 and 1976, skippering the Whites to two league titles, an FA Cup triumph and a host of other silverware.

He also managed Leeds as they reached the FA Cup semi-final and Division Two play-off final during the 1986-87 season.
