A 22-year-old woman has died in a road collision near Settle in North Yorkshire.

Police have appealed for witnesses following the fatal crash just after 8.40pm on Saturday.

The woman was a front seat passenger in a Subaru car which left the road when travelling from Long Preston towards Settle.

The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The car was travelling from Long Preston towards Settle when it left the road.

“Sadly, the front seat passenger, a 22-year-old woman from Norfolk, was killed in the collision.

“The driver, a 27-year-old man from the Skipton area, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. He is assisting officers with their enquiries.

“Witnesses to the collision, or anyone who possibly noticed the blue Subaru Impreza prior to the incident, are urged to contact the police as soon as possible.”
