Leeds Beckett University is gearing up to give a big welcome to those students who will be heading to Leeds - and is calling on people to take to social media with what they love about their city.

The campaign - which uses the hashtag #StudyinLeeds - is also aimed at showcasing the city’s advantages to students who do not meet their offer and have to enter clearing for a new university place.

Tracey Lancaster, deputy vice chancellor (Corporate Communications), said: “Social media plays a major role in students’ preparations for coming to university. We are hoping that business and individuals across the city will get involved in talking about what they love about Leeds by using the hashtag #StudyinLeeds across their channels, which will generate lots of positive conversations about our great city.”

Leeds Beckett University contributes £520m to the economy every year and the student pound is a major component of that investment. Across Leeds’s three universities, the city has 63,000 higher education students who contribute to the city region economy.
