What you need to know...

Elia Caprile is a highly-rated Italian goalkeeper who is a product of the Chievo Verona academy.

The 18-year-old played over 25 times for the club's Under-17s side before being promoted to Chievo Primavera (reserves).

Caprile has never made a senior appearance for his hometown team but has been named on the bench in Serie A, Serie B and the Coppa Italia as a backup stopper.

He has also made one appearance for Italy's national Under-18s side, which came last February against France.

Caprile was spotted sat in the West Stand at Elland Road as he took in the Whites 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in Championship action and has been training with the club over the past week.

The young goalkeeper is expected to link up with Carlos Corberan's Under-23s side initially but could act as a deputy for Illan Meslier should first choice Kiko Casilla face any FA action with a case ongoing after an incident at Charlton in September.

Caprile has signed a contract at Elland Road running until the summer of 2023 and could make his debut for the Whites on Friday as the development side travel to Wolves in Premier League Cup action.
