Plans for 129 new homes in Wetherby given the green light
A new development in Wetherby is set to deliver over 120 new homes after being given the green light.
Leeds City Council has approved plans for 129 new homes on Sandbeck Lane, submitted by Persimmon Homes.
The greenlit plans include a range of house types and sizes, including apartments and houses with two, three, four, and five bedrooms.

Of these, a total of 46 homes at the development will be handed over to a local housing association for social rent and shared ownership.
According to James Parkin, Persimmon West Yorkshire Land Director, the developer engaged closely with residents, councillors, and local organisations throughout the approval process.
"We’re delighted these plans for high-quality, new homes in Wetherby have been approved,” he said.
“We have been working closely with residents, councillors and the Better Wetherby Partnership and Wetherby Civic Society to make sure the views of the community were reflected in our plans put forward to councillors.
“New homes are needed, and we are committed to delivering energy-efficient homes that suit the needs of the community.”
As part of the development, Persimmon will be contributing towards improving facilities at Wetherby BMX Track, as well as bus services serving the site.
The development will contribute £1.1 million through the Community Infrastructure Levy to support local infrastructure improvements.
The scheme will also provide new footpaths, cycle links, and an on-site play area. Additionally, an ecological management scheme will be created in partnership with nearby Sandbeck Wood to enhance local biodiversity.
