West Yorkshire: Thugs smash windows of 19 cars in overnight wrecking spree
Wakefield South East Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has stepped up patrols in South Elmsall and South Kirkby after the night time attacks which took place between Sunday, June 5 and Monday, June 6.
Suspects smashed side windows in all 19 of the vehicles.

Hide AdAnd they let off the handbrakes in some cars, causing them to crash into lampposts.
Sergeant Sarah Degnan of the South East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are investigating these offences, and are appealing for witnesses and information.
“We have increased patrols in the area and will be investigating possible links between them to maximise our chances of finding those responsible.

Hide Ad“These offences are very unusual for this area and officers fully appreciate the distress and anger these attacks have caused in South Kirkby and South Elmsall. We will be conducting a number of enquiries including checking sources of potential CCTV.”
The offences took place between 10.30pm on June 5 and 8am on June 6 on streets across both towns.
