And now a west Leeds village’s links with the sports cars have been celebrated after a plaque was unveiled near the site of the old Aston Martin Newland Works factory at the weekend.

Four apprentices from the site, which operated in Farsley during the 1950s, were the guests of honour at the ceremony along with an original DB2 Farsley car.

Keith Foster, Barry Wood, Peter Lanframchi, Edward Preistley and David Sugden all worked at the factory. The celebration comes ahead of an event on Saturday which will see a parade of Aston Martin cars through Farsley.
