Welcome to Yorkshire's window creation


Craftsmen at the York Glaziers Trust are working at their Bedern Studios to make glass for the garden’s replica of York Minster’s Great East Window.
It will be on show at the Chelsea Flower Show from May 24 to 28.

Hide AdThe craftsmen are working in the shadow of York Minster, The York Glaziers Trust, thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, has converted a disused medieval chapel into Bedern Glaziers Studio.
There they are working on the real Great East Window. The window was made between 1405 and 1408 by a team of craftsmen led by master-glazier John Thornton of Coventry. This is one of the most ambitious stained glass creations of the Middle Ages.
