The storm lasted just under half an hour, but one storm watcher managed to capture this amazing slow motion video.

The video, captured by Leeds Birder, shows the moment a lightning bolt flashes across the sky over Leeds.

It was filmed at 240 frames-per-second before being slowed down to show the sky light up with the flash.

The storm has brought cooler temperatures to Leeds following days of glorious sunshine.

After a stormy evening the weather will start to settle overnight, but Saturday is set to be a washout - with storms expected at midday and through most of the afternoon.
