Two Leeds school buses stranded in heavy snow as police warn drivers not to travel

Two school buses have been left stranded in the snow in Leeds.

The buses came to a standstill on Fall Lane, East Ardsley, due to heavy snow on the road.

Heavy snow is forecast throughout the day in Leeds and the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.

West Yorkshire Police has warned drivers not to travel due to adverse weather conditions.

The force's Contact Management Centre tweeted a picture of the snow and said: "So the car park was clear half an hour ago. Covered now.

"Snow is forecast for most of the day so avoid travelling today."

There are delays to bus services across the city and all Flyer buses between Leeds Bradford Airport and Harrogate have been cancelled.
