A picture provided to the Yorkshire Evening Post shows significant flooding on the road, with cars said to be "submerged" in water by an eyewitness.

Leeds Council said: "Our teams have had to close part of Gelderd Road near Cottingley Springs due to deep surface water- please don't attempt to drive through floodwater and be aware of the situation in your area by signing up for appropriate alerts."
